Start with the vehicles
A 60 ton capacity tells you the maximum weighing range, but the bridge must also be long enough for the vehicles that will use it. Many South African truck applications use bridges around 18 m to 24 m, but the correct length depends on the fleet.Think about traffic, not only capacity
A site weighing a few trucks per day has different structural demands from a mine or quarry handling heavy traffic continuously. Tell the manufacturer the expected vehicles per day and any unusually heavy axle loads.Choose the installation style
Above-ground, low-profile and in-pit weighbridges each have different civil, drainage, ramp and maintenance requirements. The cheapest bridge structure is not automatically the cheapest completed site.Include the full system in the quote
Compare quotations on the same basis: structure, load cells, indicator, printer, software, civils, transport, crane/offloading, installation, calibration, verification, lightning protection and warranty.Trade use changes the requirement
